Yamaha MT 10 SP Top Speed, Price, Specs

The new Yamaha MT-10 SP is fitted with a refined version of the 998cc liquid-cooled CP4 crossplane engine derived from the race-ready Yamaha YZF-R1 powerplant. Delivering a linear, torque-rich delivery is the most powerful and technologically advanced engine on a Yamaha Hyper Naked motorcycle. In addition, fuel injection settings are optimized, along with the intake and exhaust system design, lending the Yamaha MT-10 SP a torquey, street-focused engine character.

Along with the aggressive new look, stripped-down, the Yamaha MT-10 SP adds an air of exclusivity with additional premium styling details and unique Liquid Metal/Raven color scheme signifying its status at the top of the Hyper Naked range. In addition, the Yamaha MT-10 SP brags an attractive polished swingarm and whole color-matched lower fairing for a more purposeful, race-bred look.

The new Yamaha MT-10 SP is the first production motorcycle equipped with the Öhlins’ next-generation electronically handled suspension employing the latest spool valve damping. This state-of-the-art technology delivers an even greater range of damping adjustments and a higher degree of response. Riders can select three semi-active damping modes (A-1, A-2, A-3) and three manual setting modes (M-1, M-2, M-3). When an automatic mode is picked, the system continuously adjusts rebound and compression damping to match the current running conditions, providing the most suitable settings are always in play. Manual modes enable precise electronic compression and rebound damping adjustment for the front fork and rear shock.

Braided steel brake lines are equipped as standard on the Yamaha MT-10 SP, delivering a high feel at the lever and more resistance to fade under track conditions and extreme temperatures.

The new Yamaha MT-10 SP gives cutting-edge technological improvement with Yamaha’s state-of-the-art six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit. Initially designed for the Yamaha YZF-R1, the IMU on the Yamaha MT-10 SP has developed into a smaller and lighter unit, featuring two sensors that measure three-axis angular velocity and three-axis acceleration, allowing a suite of rider aids including lean-sensitive traction control, a front-wheel Lift Control System (LIF), a Slide Control System (SCS), Engine Brake Management (EBM) and a Brake Control (BC) System with lean-sensitive ABS.

To improve the crossplane CP4 engine’s unique soundtrack further, the air box has three differing-length intake ducts tuned to resonate harmoniously at varying engine speeds to make a unique intake roar that improves the overall riding experience. Acoustic Amplifier Grilles also heighten sound positioned on the front left and right of the fuel tank, transmitting this tuned induction soundtrack directly to the bike rider, adding to the thrill when opening the throttle.

An advanced up and down Quick Shift System is standard on the new Yamaha MT-10 SP. By allowing quick, clutchless shifting both up and down the gearbox, this system makes full-on acceleration more exciting, downshifting smoother and faster, with less chassis disruption while switching gears.

The Yamaha MT-10 SP comes fitted with a premium full-color 4.2-inch TFT display, featuring a straightforward, easy-to-read screen and intuitive function navigation handled by a scrolling menu switch on the right handlebar and a quick-select mode switch left handlebar.

Advanced YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle ) system instantly calculates perfect throttle valve opening based on movement detected at the throttle grip. The new Yamaha MT-10 SP also features an APSG (Accelerator Position Sensor Grip ) which employs a spring, slider, and gear mechanism to deliver a natural throttle feel. The rider can also pre-select throttle response characteristics using the PWR (Power delivery mode) switch to select between four power modes.
