I just changed my front sprocket from a 16 tooth to a 17 tooth. And I love the difference. Now when I cruse at 70 mph it sounds like it did at 55 mph with the old sprocket. I still have plenty of power in 1st gear at take off but it’s smoother at take off. Not so jumpy. I also put 2007 mirrors on my 2020 and now I can see a lot better behind me than when I had the stock 2020 mirrors. They also look ok.

I have a Yamaha FZ1, bug it’s getting old, think I want my sons 250 V-star for most of my short trips. Economy isn’t a real problem for me, It’s just the way I roll.

I have a 2021 v star 250 that I just changed both sprockets and went with an o-ring chain. 17/40 with a 112 link (no cutting, perfect fit). What a difference it made. Stretches out the gear better. Less vibration. Still has great pick-up from a start and will pull away from the pack with ease. Went for an 80 mile ride this morning, mostly freeway. Purrs at 65/70 with no issues. Have to get a run on the grades however. Climbs up over 80 with left over throttle. Best $100 I’ve spent in a while. This combo is a good match.
