KTM 300 XC-W TPI Review

KTM continues its dedication to its enduro 2-stroke line. The KTM 300XC-W TPI is a good example.

This model has seen significant updates in 2020 and is a dirt bike built to tackle the extreme–we’re talking overcoming the insane technical muddied trails and tight taped-off tracks to unbelievable boulder climbing–KTM didn’t dedicate a Six Days- and Erzbergrodeo-specific XC-W models just for fun. These bikes are designed to be ridden on any trail or technical situation.

The TPI (transfer port injection) improves fuel efficiency and reduces emissions. TPI technology reduces the need to premix gas and jet a carburetor. This means you can fill up at a pump and leave your jetting equipment home.

Are you race-ready? Dirt Rider looked at Manuel Lettenbichler’s KTM300 XC-W-TPI to see his modifications. It was built at Murrieta’s FMF KTM Factory Racing team shop. Manni had his suspension, ECU, and Akrapovic exhaust system. He also brought handlebars, grips, and DR.

The 300 XC–W TPI has undergone a complete overhaul for 2020. The frame and subframe, Pankl six-speed transmission, Pankl aluminum head stay, mapping, battery, exhaust, bodywork, seat, and Pankl six-speed transmission have all been updated.

The power valve drive mechanism, wiring harness, and WP suspension have all been updated and reworked.

The 300 XC–W TPI is available in six days and Erzbergrodeo versions, with special graphics.

Six Days includes:

  • A skid plate.
  • Supersprox two-piece rear suspension.
  • Orange triple clamps.
  • Chain guide and frame.

The Six Days also features a Six Days seat. KTM PowerParts is included in the limited-edition Erzbergrodeo model. It features a Selle Dalla Valle Factory Seat, front and rear disc protectors, close hand guards, pulls strings, and many other accessories.
